To make paying tolls easier and quicker, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has started the ‘One Vehicle, One FASTag’ plan. This means each vehicle should have its own FASTag, and you shouldn’t use the same FASTag for more than one vehicle.
NHAI says that if your FASTag has money but doesn’t have all the correct personal details (like your ID), banks will turn it off after January 31, 2024. They’re asking people to update their details as soon as possible to avoid any problems.
To make things easy, if you use FASTag, remember to have only one FASTag for each vehicle. Also, the NHAI says it’s important to get rid of any old FASTags you have from your bank. From January 31, 2024, only your newest FASTag will work.
NHAI wants FASTag users to do the Know Your Customer (KYC) process for their latest FASTag. They’re doing this because they’ve heard about people having many FASTags for one vehicle and not following KYC rules. They hope this will make paying tolls easier and help people travel smoothly on national highways.
