The new Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra was just revealed last week. Now, people are curious about what Apple has in store for the next iPhone, specifically the iPhone 16 Pro lineup. Usually, Apple releases new iPhones in September, but there have been a lot of leaks and predictions from analysts that give us an idea of what might be coming. We can expect faster and more efficient processors, and there might be some changes to the physical parts of the high-end iPhone Pro series to make them even better.

Keep reading to find out all the details we know about the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max.

New iPhones might have more storage. Currently, the Pro iPhones can have up to 1 TB of storage. But soon, with the iPhone 16, it’s expected that the Pro models could have even more – up to 2 TB. A report from DigiTimes also suggests that Apple might use a type of storage called QLC NAND, which is cheaper than the current one called TLC NAND.

This change could be good for people who create a lot of content or want a phone with a lot of space. iPhones can also shoot 3D Spatial videos, so a bigger storage option might attract users who like to keep a lot of data on their phones. Similar to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, all versions of the iPhone 16 might start with at least 256 GB of storage.

Right now, Apple is looking into both QLC and TLC technologies. QLC can store more data, and it’s cheaper. However, TLC has some issues like slower speeds and lower reliability, with a bit more risk of problems compared to QLC.

A new report suggests that the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro series may have a special button, unlike previous rumors of a buttonless design. This new button might be placed on the lower right side, similar to older Nokia Lumia and Sony Xperia phones.

This new button could work as a camera trigger, similar to using a volume button for taking pictures. It might feel like pressing a physical button through a special vibration. This button is also said to be sensitive to pressure, allowing users to focus and take pictures or shoot videos with the same button.

All four versions of the iPhone 16 could have this new button, and Apple might extend the action button from the iPhone 15 Pro to the entire iPhone 16 series, with customization through the Shortcuts app.

The iPhone 16 series is expected to have larger screens. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus may come with a 6.3-inch display, while the bigger iPhone 16 Pro Max could have a much larger 6.9-inch screen. However, the high refresh rate of 120Hz might be limited to the Pro models.

Bigger screens also mean larger batteries, suggesting improved battery life. Apple may also enhance cooling solutions for better and sustained performance. Despite larger screens, the iPhone 16 models are expected to resemble the iPhone 15 series with a pill-shaped cutout at the top for the Dynamic Island, and Apple might reduce bezel size for a slightly higher screen-to-body ratio.

Big news for iPhone fans! The upcoming iPhone 16 might use the powerful A18 chip for all models, making gaming awesome. The Pro versions could have even faster chips for better performance.

The A18 chip is really advanced, like the A17 Pro and M3 chips. The Pro iPhones might have more memory (RAM) for cool camera features and more.

Apple might promise to support these new iPhones with software updates for up to 7 years. The A18 chip could also bring new AI features using on-device generative AI.

The Pro models of iPhone 16 might get a 5x telephoto zoom lens for better zooming. The Pro might also have a super clear ultra-wide angle lens with 48 MP resolution, giving sharper and more detailed pictures.

Even the selfie camera could be better in low light with a wider aperture. But the regular iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus may stick to a 12 MP ultra-wide angle lens.

Exciting stuff is coming for iPhone users!
