Satyajeet Tambe, who is a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Council, said that Poonam Pandey should be charged with a case to show others not to do similar stunts.

Model and actor Poonam Pandey is facing problems because she pretended to die. Celebrities, doctors, and politicians are criticising her for spreading untrue information to raise awareness about cervical cancer. On Saturday, Satyajeet Tambe, a lawmaker from Maharashtra, asked the Mumbai Police to do something about Poonam Pandey for sharing false news about her death.

Tambe, who works in the government, said that Poonam Pandey should be punished for pretending to die from cancer just to get attention.

After there was news that Poonam Pandey had died from cancer, she said she’s actually alive. She explained she did it to make people aware of cancer.

Tambe said Poonam Pandey should be punished for spreading fake news.

He said, “Poonam Pandey shouldn’t use a serious illness like cancer to get attention. She tricked people and didn’t help raise awareness.”

A group called the All Indian Cine Workers Association also criticised Poonam Pandey. They want her and her manager to be punished for spreading fake news.

They said, “Using cancer to get famous is wrong. Poonam Pandey hurt many people’s feelings with her fake news.”

Poonam Pandey’s manager had said she died from cancer, but Poonam Pandey later said she’s alive. She explained she wanted to raise awareness about cancer.

She said, “I’m sorry for the confusion. I faked my death to tell people about cancer.”

That’s what happened with Poonam Pandey’s fake death story.
